1) Organization. I'd rather have a few numerous small blogs where it is easier to catalogue my thoughts and makes it easier in the long run to go back and reflect on older posts :).
2) After doing some thinking and trying to analyze some things about myself and what I wanted in life... well simply speaking, I'm never REALLY going to know, so instead of wasting my time writing and your time reading, I figured I'd try writing something that will hopefully lead me to my goal while at the same time inspiring you! :)
3) This one is not as relevant as the previous two points. I originally wanted my blog URL to be Hold On Hope, but that was taken. I figured going with Hold One Hope, I could still get the same satisfaction of the originally desired title yet continue to write with Him in mind. :) I like to make my titles play into my post as much as possible so we are halfway there. Here comes the real part to my first post here! Enjoy!
So here goes nothing!!!!
Earlier this Friday, a few brothers and I went out to McDonald's after the Pan-Asian dance show. I was so hungry that I ordered too much for myself and ended up giving the extra double cheeseburger I had to one of the brothers who was still hungry. He insisted on paying me the dollar that it cost for the burger but I refused. Not just out of my love for the brother but also upon a little virtue that I was blessed with upon entering college.
At the beginning of college and during my underclassman years, I was blessed to have a lot of older brothers at church who would treat me to meals or never let me pay them back on certain occasions. The reason behind this strange act of kindness was so when I got older gained seniority at church that I would pass on these acts of kindness to the future generations of GCC as well as the people around me. I realize that I have been terrible at following through with this, but for those of you whom I've had the pleasure of meeting up with, you know you've heard this from me at some point.
Granted he said something along the lines of "Shoot! Now I need to meet up and take out and underclassman," it goes without saying that these random acts of loving kindness need to happen more often. Spending time with Jason Lee and taking a few pics while he recorded for the Jubilee Project definitely affirmed how much these random acts are needed in our lives. Passing on the love is a great feeling! I know this is no fundraiser or anything, but I definitely intend to pass on the love that was given to me when I was young, dashing college underclassman.
"do you want anything from wendy's?"
ReplyDelete"no."
"but i thought you were hungry."
"i am."
"so if i got extra spicy chicken nuggets and i can't finish them, you're not going to eat them"
"uh..."
"so i'm basically gonna get you lunch, and if you don't eat it, it's just going to go to waste."
"fine."
it's great to hear that you'll be trying to inspire the future generations (maybe even the older generations) through random acts of kindness and/or blogging.
you did not pass acts of loving kindness lol. you were a roommate hellbent on making me fat! <3
